rightは「右」と「正しい」

きょうは一気に２週分の復習です(＾O＾)

10/5　上越「市展」がテーマでしたね。

P: The Joetsu City Art Exhibition is on this week. I’d love to go and see it.

M: Sounds good. It’s on at Shimin Plaza and Asutopia until October 9th.

P: I know Shimin Plaza, but where is Asutopia?

M: If you come out of Takada Station, go straight down the road until you get to Honcho. It’s the big building on the right corner.

P: Out of the station, straight down the road and it’s on the right corner. Across from the Art Hotel?

M: Yes, that’s right.

P: Thanks.

go straight down は　真っ直ぐ行く　という意味でしたね。

right　は「右に曲がる」と表現する時の「右」という

意味もありますが、会話の中に　that’s right　という

表現が出てきますね

これは「その通り」といった意味です。

同じrightを使いますが、left（左）の時でも

「正しい」という意味の場合は「right」を使います。

このピーターの解説が面白い言い方で、大笑いでした(笑)

10/12　紅葉がテーマでした。

autumn＝fall＝秋。

fallは秋と滝、落ちるという意味の動詞もあって大変(笑)

「苗名滝」をオススメしました。

P: Autumn is here, even though it’s still very warm.

M: Yes, the leaves will be changing colour soon.

P: I’ve heard it’s very beautiful around here in autumn. Where is a good place to see the leaves?

M: I think that the Naina Falls are best.

P: Where is that?

M: It’s near Mt. Myoko. Less than an hour’s drive from Takada.

P: Thanks. I’ll try to go soon.

colourのスペルはcolorでも、もちろんＯＫです。

leaf（葉っぱ）は、複数形になるとfをとってleavesと、

紅葉？しますね(笑)

来週は「越後謙信SAKEまつり」の話題になりそうです。
